Sony has revolved out a new firmware update for the Sony Xperia Z and the Xperia ZL that smoothens and improves the performance of the smartphone. Both new firmwares bring similar improvements over the system, signal and touch sensitivity, bug fixes and are still based on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
it seems that there have been some performance issues and bugs back then, so this new upgrade, which is already available to some users, might be Sony’s attempt to promptly fix the problems.
in INDIA region, we have just spotted another 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware on our Xperia Z C6602 HSPA+ version via PC Companion as well as via SUS. No such update is seen listed on PTCRB site also. Update also confirmed on Xperia Z C6603 LTE version now.

10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware update confirmed in India, Sweden, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Poland till now. Same 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware update is also confirmed on Xperia ZL C6503.
There is no official change log on the updates, but some users have already compiled a list of all the notable changes.
There is no new information regarding any upgrade to Android 4.3 for the Xperia Z line of devices. Considering the devices just got Android 4.2 and it was only recently that Android 4.3 was announced, that might not happen any time soon anyway.
